Get on a treadmill and jog slowly as a warm-up for 3-5 minutes. Next select a pace which is at 80-90% of your maximum effort and run at this speed for two minutes. After this period of time lower the pace to a speed which allows you to jog comfortably and get your breathe back. Now, increase the pace again to 80-90% of your maximum effort once more for a period of two minutes.
Now keep repeating this cycle for at least 20 minutes, preferably 30 minutes. Warning, this is very tough! If you haven’t tried interval training before then you may well not be able to complete one full session like this. What you will probably need to do is alter the time variables to suit your level of fitness. Erhaps you might have two minutes break in between ‘efforts’ or only run hard for one minute and not two. Whatever you do just remember this is supposed to be tough for a reason – it burn calories and lots of them. This is why it is one of the best exercises to lose tummy fat fast.
Another one of the best exercises to lose tummy fat is the squat exercise done with a barbell. It is best to do this one supervised at a gym as they will have all the necessary equipment and it will be safer than doing it on your own at home.
The basic movement is simple: from a standing position, feet shoulder width apart squat down allowing the weight to be transferred through your heels. And stop just after the ninety degree angle. Then push yourself back up to the start position.
You should be doing this whilst also supporting a barbell which is placed behind your neck. This barbell is put in position most easily through the use of a squat rack at a gym. You can instead grasp to dumbbells and hold them at your side if you wish to do this at home.
Now you should try to do 10-15 repetitions with a weight which means that the last couple of repetitions are very tough indeed! This is one set. Once one set is done rest for 90 seconds then do another set. Do three sets like this in total.
Once more this exercise is very tough, however it burns through a lot of calories and because it is so stressful it increases the body’s metabolic rate for up to 36 hours afterwards which is incredibly beneficial for fat loss purposes and one of the reasons why it is amongst the best exercises to lose tummy fat.
You may also gain some extra muscle mass, do not worry you will not suddenly get bulky you will just look firmer. The extra amount of muscle will also mean that you burn through more calories each day because muscle tissue requires calories just to keep it functioning healthily which helps you to create the calorie deficit.
