If you need to lose tummy fat then you are in the right place. Tummy fat normally refers to the slow accumulation of fatty tissue towards the lower front of the stomach area.
The best way to lose tummy fat is first to understand what it is actually doing there. Firstly, the reason it has accumulated there is for two main reasons:
1) There is a high concentration of fat receptors around the tummy area. These are special cells that facilitate the accumulation of fatty tissue. Where ever they are present, fat tissue is likely to follow. This means there is a high concentration of these fat receptors at sites like, the tummy region, the inner thigh area, under arm area, chin area and so on.

2) Over a period of time you have generated a net surplus of calories. Basically this means that you have taken in more calories through food and drink than you have used up through activity. The extra calories that are not used up are then sent to the fat receptors where they are converted to that ugly fat tissue.
One further piece of information you need to be aware of is that when you start to gain fat tissue the area that it is first put on to is genetically predetermined and you cannot change it. For most people fat tissue will first be put on around the stomach, thighs and bum region. It may then go on around the chin area, underarm area and neck area.
Importantly though, when you lose weight it will come off your body in the reverse order to which it was put on. So if you first gained weight around your tummy, then your bum and then your chin region. You will have to lose weight first from chin then your bun and then finally your tummy. This is why it can seem like a difficult task to lose tummy fat.
So, by far the best way to lose tummy fat is to create on an ongoing basis what is known as a calorie deficit i.e. you use up more calories each day than you consume. The difference in calories will then be withdrawn from your fat supplies which if done on a consistent basis will lead to you losing tummy fat.
