Try drinking cold water instead. Researchers at the University of Utah noted that those who drank 12 eight-ounces of water a day had a higher metabolism than those that didn’t. Furthermore, drinking the water cold will give your body an extra boost of burning a extra calories in an attempt to warm up the water. Clever huh. You may not lose much with each glass, but over a prolonged period of time it all adds up, and it won’t cost you anything extra either.

A study showed that those who drank about three to five cups a day saw their weight decrease by about 4.6 percent, and those who drank two to four cups decreased it by about an extra 50 calories!
