When you put on weight usually due to consuming more calories than you are burning off, the body stores the excess calories as fat tissue in some part of your body. The part of your body that it stores the fat tissue in is determined by your genetics.
Usually for ladies the first place for fat to be stored is around the hips and thighs. Once a certain amount of fat has been deposited there it will start to be distributed to other parts of the body in a set order, perhaps the waistline will be next, then the underarm area and then the chin region and so on.
The crucial thing to remember is that when you lose weight it will come off in the exact reverse order to that which it went on. In the case of the order above this means that they would have to lose your chin fat first, then your under arm fat fat from the waist area before finally getting to the hip area. Doing this will help you to create a calorie deficit which if you continue to create on a daily basis will lead you towards general fat loss from all over your body and which will finally enable you to lose hip fat and that is how to lose hip fat!
There is a bit more to it than that, and weight loss is often more a question of motivation and education so that you continue to do the right things over a period of time and not just for a week or two. Put it this way, in three to six months time you could have completely transformed your body and be looking great or you could stay looking the same as you are, it really is up to you!
